Reprezinta cel mai important component proteic din plasma, lichid cefalo-rahidian si urina. In plasma, albumina este responsabila in principal de mentinerea presiunii oncotice; de asemenea este implicata in transportul diversilor compusi (acizi grasi liberi, bilirubina, hormoni, ioni de metale si medicamente)<sup>6<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Albumina serica are un timp de injumatatire de 18-20 zile<sup>5<\/sup>; aceasta perioada este scurtata in conditiile unui catabolism crescut: infectii severe, hemoragii, interventii chirurgicale, pierderi proteice la nivel renal, gastrointestinal si cutanat. Din acest motiv, albumina este considerata un reactant de faza acuta \u201cnegativ\u201d (scade ca raspuns la procesele infectioase si inflamatorii acute)<sup>5<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Albumina constituie un indicator global al starii de nutritie a organismului, in special la persoanele varstnice cu diverse afectiuni cronice<sup>6<\/sup>. S-a constatat astfel ca la persoanele varstnice spitalizate, hipoalbuminemia reprezinta un factor de risc independent in ceea ce priveste mortalitatea<sup>1<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Nivelele de albumina sub 2.0-2.5 g\/dL asociate sindroamelor nefrotice, cirozei hepatice sau enteropatiilor cu pierderi de proteine pot cauza\u00a0 edeme<sup>2<\/sup><sup>;5<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><em>Recomandari pentru determinarea albuminei serice<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">evaluarea statusului nutritional;<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">sindroame edematoase;<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">afectiuni renale asociate cu proteinurie;<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">ciroza hepatica;<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">boli cronice consumptive<sup>2<\/sup><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><em>Pregatire pacient <\/em><\/strong><em>- <\/em>\u00e0 jeun (pe nemancate)<sup>4<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><em>Specimen recoltat <\/em><\/strong><em>- <\/em>sange venos;
