S<em>trongyloides<\/em> <em>stercoralis<\/em> este, de asemenea, predominant \u00een sud-estul Statelor Unite, inclusiv \u00een zonele rurale din Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia \u0219i Carolina de Nord. La locul penetr\u0103rii filariforme, pielea poate fi inflamat\u0103 \u0219i poate da senza\u021bia de m\u00e2nc\u0103rime. Migra\u021bia larvei prin pl\u0103m\u00e2ni \u0219i \u00een trahee poate produce tuse uscat\u0103, respira\u021bie \u0219uier\u0103toare \u0219i hemoptizie u\u0219oar\u0103. Eozinofilia, de\u0219i este frecvent\u0103 \u00een r\u00e2ndul pacien\u021bilor cu strongiloidioz\u0103, nu este o constatare universal\u0103, iar absen\u021ba eozinofiliei nu poate fi utilizat\u0103 pentru a exclude infec\u021bia<sup>5<\/sup>. La unii pacien\u021bi, \u00een special cei cu un sistem imunitar compromis, larvele rabditiforme se pot matura \u00een larvele filariforme infec\u021bioase din tractul gastro-intestinal.<\/p>\n<p>Larvele filariforme p\u0103trund ulterior \u00een mucoasa gastro-intestinal\u0103, migreaz\u0103 c\u0103tre pl\u0103m\u00e2ni \u0219i \u00ee\u0219i pot completa ciclul de via\u021b\u0103<sup>6<\/sup>. Autoinfec\u021bia la nivel sc\u0103zut poate men\u021bine nematodul \u00een gazd\u0103 de ani de zile p\u00e2n\u0103 la decenii. Cu toate acestea, la pacien\u021bii care devin imunocompromi\u0219i, autoinfec\u021bia poate duce la hiperinfec\u021bie \u0219i boal\u0103 diseminat\u0103 fatal\u0103.
