Agentul cauzal al bolii este genul protozoar Babesia (Apicomplexa: Babesiidae), adesea numit piroplasm\u0103 datorit\u0103 formei sale \u00een form\u0103 de par\u0103. Dintre cele peste 100 de specii de babesia, doar 3-4 specii s-au dovedit periculoase pentru oameni.<\/p>\n<p>Rezervorul natural de babesias capabil s\u0103 infecteze oamenii sunt:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>bovine;<\/li>\n<li>c\u0103prioare;<\/li>\n<li>mamifere mici (\u00een principal roz\u0103toare).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Acarienii Ixodes sunt, de asemenea, un rezervor de babesias: \u00een corpul acarienilor, babesias sufer\u0103 anumite cicluri de dezvoltare \u0219i persist\u0103 mult timp.<\/p>\n<p>Infec\u021bia la om poate fi asimptomatic\u0103 sau cu simptome clinice u\u0219oare, dar prezint\u0103 un risc deosebit pentru:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>persoanele cu imunodeficien\u021b\u0103 congenital\u0103 sau dob\u00e2ndit\u0103;<\/li>\n<li>persoanele \u00een v\u00e2rst\u0103;<\/li>\n<li>pacien\u021bi cu patologie comorbid\u0103 combinat\u0103.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00cen aceste grupuri, rata mortalit\u0103\u021bii poate ajunge la 50%.<\/p>\n<p>Perioada de incuba\u021bie este de 1-3 s\u0103pt\u0103m\u00e2ni dup\u0103 mu\u0219c\u0103tura de c\u0103pu\u0219\u0103. Unele cazuri apar cu o clinic\u0103 \u0219tears\u0103 sau sunt asimptomatice. La pacien\u021bii din grupurile de risc, boala are un tablou clinic pronun\u021bat.<\/p>\n<p>Simptomele principale ale bolii sunt:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>febr\u0103 sever\u0103 cu febr\u0103 care cre\u0219te p\u00e2n\u0103 la 40 CP;<\/li>\n<li>frisoane, urmate de transpira\u021bie abundent\u0103;<\/li>\n<li>reducerea diurezei \u0219i colorarea urinei \u00een culoarea maro;<\/li>\n<li>uneori exist\u0103 icter al pielii \u0219i membranelor mucoase.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Complica\u021bii ale bolii:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>anemia care se dezvolt\u0103 datorit\u0103 hemolizei cauzate de un microorganism;<\/li>\n<li>oliguria cu trecerea la anurie;<\/li>\n<li>insuficien\u021b\u0103 acut\u0103 de organe multiple.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Diagnosticul este confirmat prin detectarea parazi\u021bilor intraeritrocite tipici \u00een frotiurile de s\u00e2nge colorate sau prin detectarea ADN-ului babesia folosind PCR.<\/p>\n<p>Nu exist\u0103 o prevenire specific\u0103.<\/p>\n<p>Detectarea Babesia \u00eentr-o c\u0103pu\u0219\u0103 \u00eendep\u0103rtat\u0103 \u00een primele trei zile dup\u0103 boal\u0103 va permite prescrierea profilaxiei medicamentoase. Acest lucru este valabil mai ales pentru pacien\u021bii din grupurile de risc.<\/p>\n<p>Protec\u021bia individual\u0103 \u0219i public\u0103 \u00eempotriva mu\u0219c\u0103turilor de c\u0103pu\u0219e poate reduce riscul de infec\u021bie cu babesias.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Care este scopul cercet\u0103rii<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Studiul vizeaz\u0103 identificarea materialului genetic al agentului cauzal a\u00a0Babesia (piroplasmozei) la c\u0103pu\u0219ele studiate. Este utilizat \u00een scopul diagnostic\u0103rii \u00een timp util a bolilor \u0219i a tratamentului patogenetic vizat. Grupul de risc include persoanele din zonele endemice, persoanele cu imunodeficien\u021b\u0103 congenital\u0103 sau dob\u00e2ndit\u0103, precum \u0219i v\u00e2rstnicii \u0219i pacien\u021bii cu
