Hormonul este larg r\u0103sp\u00e2ndit\u00a0\u00een organism, fiind prezent\u00a0\u00een neuronii din sistemul nervos central, tractul digestiv, respirator \u015fi urogenital, precum \u015fi la nivelul tiroidei, suprarenalelor \u015fi glandelor exocrine. Principalele sale efecte includ relaxarea musculaturii netede (bron\u015fice \u015fi vasculare), stimularea secre\u0163iei gastrointestinale de ap\u0103 \u015fi electroli\u0163i \u015fi eliberarea hormonilor pancreatici<sup>3<\/sup>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Hipersecre\u0163ia VIP este \u00eent\u00e2lnit\u0103\u00a0\u00een \u201esindromul holerei pancreatice\u201d, sindromul Verner \u2013 Morrison sau sindromul diaree apoas\u0103 \u2013 hipokaliemie \u2013 hipoclorhidrie. Tabloul clinic include hipermotilitate, sindroame diareice apoase cu hipokaliemie \u015fi hipoclorhidrie, deshidratare \u015fi astenie fizic\u0103 marcat\u0103. VIP poate fi secretat de tumori insulare pancreatice (90% din cazuri) sau ectopice precum \u015fi de celule insulare hiperplazice.
