De\u015fi multe dintre aceste func\u0163ii se suprapun peste cele ale interleukinelor de tip 1 (IL-1), precum <em>sinteza reactan\u0163ilor de faz\u0103 acut\u0103 \u015fi febr\u0103<\/em>, IL-6 are \u015fi efecte antiinflamatorii<sup>5<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Receptorul specific pentru IL-6 (IL-6R) apar\u0163ine superfamiliei receptorilor citokinici (de tip hematopoietic). IL-6R este un complex proteic membranar compus din 2 subunit\u0103\u0163i structurale \u015fi func\u0163ionale: o subunitate ligant specific\u0103, IL-6R\u03b1 (un lan\u0163 \u03b1 de 80 kDa) \u015fi o subunitate semnalizatoare, gp130 (un lan\u0163 b, component\u0103 comun\u0103 mai multor tipuri de receptori, precum cei de care se leag\u0103 IL-11, IL-27, IL-31)<sup>6;7<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Citokina IL-6 este secretat\u0103 ca polipeptid format din 184 aminoacizi, cu o greutate molecular\u0103 de aproximativ 21 kDa, \u00een func\u0163ie de gradul glicozil\u0103rii<sup>6<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Asem\u0103n\u0103tor IL-1, sursa cea mai important\u0103 a IL-6 este reprezentat\u0103 de macrofage, fiind sintetizat\u0103 \u015fi de limfocitele T \u015fi B, de fibroblaste \u015fi celule endoteliale, de keratinocite, sinoviocite, condrocite, celule epiteliale<sup>5;6;7<\/sup>. Astfel, IL-6 este produs\u0103 ca r\u0103spuns la infec\u0163ii bacteriene \u015fi virale, inflama\u0163ii sau traumatisme, ajung\u00e2nd rapid la nivele plasmatice detectabile, spre deosebire de multe alte citokine<sup>7<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Citokina IL-6 este considerat\u0103 cel mai important inductor al produc\u0163iei hepatice a reactan\u0163ilor de faz\u0103 acut\u0103: fibrinogen, amiloid seric A, haptoglobina, proteina C reactiv\u0103, complementul. Ca urmare a expunerii la IL-6, ficatul scade sinteza de albumin\u0103 \u015fi transferin\u0103, ini\u0163iind \u00een schimb procesele de regenerare hepatocitar\u0103<sup>5;7<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Citokina IL-6 stimuleaz\u0103 r\u0103spunsurile imune de tip umoral \u015fi celular ac\u0163ion\u00e2nd at\u00e2t asupra limfocitelor B, c\u00e2t \u015fi a limfocitelor T. IL-6 ac\u0163ioneaz\u0103 ca important factor de cre\u015ftere \u015fi diferen\u0163iere a celulelor B \u015fi stimuleaz\u0103 produc\u0163ia lor de imunoglobuline. De asemenea promoveaz\u0103 activarea, cre\u015fterea \u015fi diferen\u0163ierea celulelor T<sup>5;6;7<\/sup>. Este implicat\u0103 \u00een patogenia <em>mielomului multiplu, <\/em>fiind utilizat ca factor de prognostic al bolii<sup>2;6;7<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">IL-6 stimuleaz\u0103 hematopoieza (ac\u0163ioneaz\u0103 sinergic cu IL-3), induce secre\u0163ia de ACTH \u015fi al\u0163i hormoni pituitari (prolactina, hormon de cre\u015ftere, hormon luteinizant)<sup>7<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Pe l\u00e2ng\u0103 ac\u0163iunile\u00a0 proinflamatorii, IL-6 mediaz\u0103 \u015fi o serie de efecte antiinflamatorii: \u00een timp ce IL-1 \u015fi TNF \u00ee\u015fi induc reciproc sinteza, precum \u015fi pe cea de IL-6, IL-6 finalizeaz\u0103 aceast\u0103 cascad\u0103 inflamatorie deoarece inhib\u0103 sinteza de IL-1 \u015fi TNF, concomitent cu stimularea sintezei de IL-1RA<sup>5<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La nivelul \u0163esutului osos, IL-6 stimuleaz\u0103 formarea osteoclastelor, favoriz\u00e2nd <em>osteoporoza<\/em><sup>6;7<\/sup>.
